Home Birth | Willa June

A few years ago, Carley stopped one day to ask me about having a home birth. Anyone who knows me, likely knows I am passionate about childbirth—maybe a little overzealous, even, at times. lol We’ve had 2 of our children in a birth center, and 2 at home now and it’s a topic I love to discuss. In reality, I just really support women’s birth rights—in whichever setting they choose. So needless to say, I was super psyched to pass my knowledge on to another who was just as excited as I am.

September, 20, 2020, Carley got to live that dream! I asked if I could be apart of it with my camera and she graciously agreed! Woohoo! We were both pumped!

And then…I missed it! When baby decided she was ready, she came! I was 10 minutes too late. So my first (and last for a while) birth was a bust for me—but a wild success for Carley, baby Willa, her family and their midwives (which, of course, is the most important thing)! She rocked it!!!

I’m grateful I got the opportunity and was at least able to provide a few images after the fact. Carley and Tim have a sweet, beautiful family that grew by one that day. Welcome to the world, Willa June!
